LEGAL INFORMATION

It is permitted under the Smart Pix licence agreement for you to freely distribute an unregistered version of Smart Pix Manager. It is NOT permitted for you to distribute registration details with the CD-ROM, unless a prior agreement has been established with Xequte Software. Please contact sales@xequte.com if you have questions.

USING THE SMART PIX CD-ROM INSTALLER

The file CDsetup.exe and install.ini must be in the root (top level directory) of your CD-ROM.

To configure the installer for your CD-ROM layout then change the settings in install.ini.

To use the default configuration:

- Put your prebuilt Smart Pix database in the CD-ROM folder
\DB\
e.g. E:\DB\ where E is your CD-ROM drive

- Place the Setup.exe file from the Smart Pix installation into the CD-ROM folder:
\install\
i.e. you should have the file E:\install\setup.exe where E is your CD-ROM drive

- Your images can go in any folder(s) of the CD-ROM as long as they map with the Source Directories,
for e.g. if your source directories are:
%:\images\general\
%:\images\general\more\

Then your CD-ROM should have the folders
\images\general\
\images\general\more\
which contain your images.

The % symbol is used by Smart Pix to represent the CD-ROM drive. Consult the Smart Pix help file section, 'Shipping Smart Pix DB's on CD-ROM', for more information.

- If you plan to also have Smart Pix run straight from the CD (i.e. users can view the files and database without needing to install Smart Pix, then copy an installed version of Smart Pix Manager (i.e. all the files in C:\Program Files\Smart Pix Manager\ to the root (top level directory) of your CD-ROM.

AUTORUNNING OF CD INSTALL OR SMART PIX

If you want the CD Installer to automatically run when inserting the CD-ROM into the drive then:
1. Rename the file, cdautorun.inf to autorun.inf
2. copy it to the root (top level directory) of your CD-ROM.

If you want Smart Pix Manager (the version you have copied to the CD-ROM) to automatically run when inserting the CD-ROM into the drive then:
1. Rename the file, spmautorun.inf to autorun.inf
2. copy it to the root (top level directory) of your CD-ROM.

It is generally not recommended to use the autorun function as it will get annoying for users if they are prompted to install everytime they insert the CD just to access its images. A good set of instructions (run CDSetup.exe to install, run SmartPix.exe to run) is generally preferable.

We recommend that you e-mail sales@xequte.com before shipping your CD-ROM so we can check everything is OK.
