Is there any way of globally setting the page layout such as drop shadow, image number font and colour etc when building the HTML version, or do I have to edit page properties on each individual page?
What you need to do is set the default properties for adding shadows, font, etc. as you create the album (e.g. when using the insert page wizard, there are options for the font and shadow of all inserted images).
Once the album is created, there isn't really an automatic way to change all of the properties of objects on all your pages.
(though if you have some technical skills you can write an automated script editor to modify the .pag files as they are build with a standard windows format for interoperability).
