* SOFTWARE TIPS

SMART PIX MANAGER: QUICKLY CREATING NEW KEYWORDS

When you start a new database and want to create a lot of keywords, you may find it easier to type the list in a text editor, such as Notepad (optionally adding a group name after the keyword, e.g. A Keyword#A Group) and then import them into Smart Pix using the keyword import option under Database|Import and Export|Import DB Entries...

DIJI ALBUM: USING VIEW MODE

You will have noticed that while editing your album certain features are disabled for faster operation, such as page and background music and high-quality image display.  Also as the viewer has less toolbars than the editor the album page is slightly bigger so may look different.  For this reason we recommend that you often preview the album to see how it will look in the viewer.  To do this select Edit|Preview Album in View mode
Note: If you want to maintain the layout of your album pages regardless of the size of the program window, use the options under File|Album Properties, Album Size.

POWER PRINT: CROPPING IMAGES TO FIT YOUR PHOTO FRAMES

Photo frames are made to match standard photo sizes such as 6x4", 8x10" etc. Power Print allows you to output your images with exactly the correct size and dimensions to match these sizes.  To do this, double-click an image to open it in the image editor.  Then click on the Crop button and select a crop ratio.  Finally choose an area of the image to keep and click "Apply".  The resulting image is now precisely sized.

DVD PIXPLAY: HOW MANY IMAGES CAN BE PLACED ON A CD?

DVD PixPlay creates a movie from your images, so there is not a specific limit on the number of images that can be added, only on the length (in time) of the slideshow. If you use the default VCD format option then each CD can contain around 60 minutes of slideshow, so if you set each image to be displayed for 10 seconds then that would equate to 360 pictures per CD.
