Dear Xequte Software User,

Our main release this month is "Picture of the Day," freeware which ensures you are never bored with your desktop again.  Once installed it automatically downloads images from the Internet and displays them as your desktop wallpaper (details below).

There are also minor updates to DVD PixPlay, Diji Album and MailList King, all offering bug features and various improvements.  See below for details.

We are continuing to work on an update for Smart Pix Manager and MegaView (which will be a free upgrade to current users).

If you have any feature suggestions or problems please email us.  Also, please forward this message to any friends or family who might be interested.

Regards

* PROGRAM TIPS

- DVD Pixplay: Saving Slideshows Directly to MPEG Files
With v1.01 you can now save your slideshow directly to an MPEG video file, rather than writing it to a VCD formatted CD.  MPEG files are useful if you want only want to playback your files on a computer or want to send them by e-mail.

To export to an MPEG file, click the "Create CD" button as usual, but on the last wizard step check the "Save to File" option, Click the "Browse" button, change the format to MPEG and select a filename to save to.

- Diji Album: More Natural Layout of Images in Album Pages

Only on a computer are images always positioned in exact horizontal alignment on a page.  Now with v4.11, Diji Album can optionally automatically position images so that those on the left are nearer the bottom and those on the right closer to the top.

To enable this, check the "Position images with an uneven top edge" option when you are inserting new image pages using the Page Wizard (Page|Insert Page Wizard)

- MailList King: Customizing your Outlook Sender Address

With v4.22 MLK now allows you to use a custom sender address for your messages rather than using the default Outlook account.  Among other advantages, this makes it easier to use Outlook rules to correctly route messages that come in response to your mailer, as the reply address of a mailer may be inundated with bounce reports, auto-replies and Spam.  To specify a custom sender address, select View|Options, highlight the Sending tab and click the "Settings" button.

- Amaze: Displaying images downloaded from the Internet

With "Picture of the Day" (mentioned above) you can enhance your screen saver with images downloaded from the many great "Image of the Day" sites available on the Internet.  To enable this, download and install POTD from www.xequte.com/other/  Then run it and check the option "Display images as a screen saver"
