Dear Xequte Software user,

Well hasn't 2001 just flown by?  We have slipped on a number of planned
releases for the year due to events largely beyond our control (yeah, pass
the buck, Nigel ;-), but we are planning upgrades or updates for all our
main products in the first half of '02.  We are also expecting to release a
new product (no more details on that one yet, it's very hush hush).
 

* SMART PIX MANAGER AND MEGAVIEW V5.3 RELEASES

New releases of two of our most popular products have been issued.  These
free updates focus principally on implementing the most common requests from
our users.

The main improvement is that our already extensive supported format list has
been further enhanced with support for popular image applications, including
PhotoShop, Paintshop Pro, Kodak Photo-CD images, Dr. Halo and Autodesk
files.

Here is our top ten list of new features:

New format support: *.FAX; *.BW; *.RGB; *.RGBA; *.SGI; *.CEL; *.PIC; *.PCD;
*.RLA; *.RPF; *.CUT; *.PAL; *.PSD; *.PDD; *.PSP; *.PBM; *.PPM
Support for browsing of files within Zip files (including encrypted ones)
New camera acquisition wizard that supports USB
Pre-caching of thumbnails
New option: Add Folder names as keywords to the database (SPM only)
Ability to apply text to images (in batches or singly)
Added new option to Batch Conversion: Auto Enhance
Added ability to capture HTML, font and text files to thumbnail
Support for setting of MP3 tags for multiple files
Support for exporting of Diji Album formatted file description lists

* ZIP PLUG-IN FOR SMART PIX AND MEGAVIEW RELEASED

A free plug-in has been released for Smart Pix and MegaView which allows you
to browse the contents of a Zip file in the same way as a normal folder.
Full support is included for encrypted zips, as well as creating and
extracting zips.

To add Zip support you will need to install the v5.3 release of the
appropriate product (see above) and the relevant Zip Plug-in install from:

* MAILLIST KING V3.03 UPDATE OUT

An update to MailList King has been released which addresses some minor
issues and adds some new features such as the ability to update an address
in the database using a message with the subject:

UPDATE old@email.com new@email.com

New options are also available to:
- Add users who unsubscribe to the "Blocked" list
- Maintain a log when sending e-mails
- Automatically delete out-of-office messages
 
 

* DIJI ALBUM UPDATE OUT SOON

In late January we will issue a free update to Diji Album v3.0 to address
some issues and add a few features that did not make it into the initial
release (including contents objects and custom buttons).  If you have
experienced any issues that you have not advised us of, please e-mail us.
 
 

* PROGRAM TIPS

Smart Pix Manager and MegaView:

You can add thumbnails to almost all file types.  With videos, pause at the
preferred frame and click Thumbnails|Use Video Frame as Thumbnail.  With
HTML, font and text types, select Thumbnails|Use Display as Thumbnail.  With
sound and other formats you can select an image to use as a thumbnail.

Diji Album Editor:

There are two ways of adding sound to your album: Adding it to the page and
adding it to the album.  Sound files added to an album will be played
throughout viewing of the album.  To add music files to your album specify
them under File|Album Properties.  Sounds added to a page will only be
played while that page is displayed and will automatically pause the album
sounds until playback finishes.  To add a sound to a page select
Insert|Sound...  If you wish it to play automatically when the page is
displayed then check the relevant option
