Dear Xequte Software User,

Well I'm trying my hardest to avoid the usual observation about how quickly the year has gone and how only yesterday...  Well you get the idea.  Yes, the year is almost over now, and while it is a little late to announce it, we have added a gift-ordering page so you can purchase our software for friends and family:

http://www.xequte.com/order/gift.html

We have issued an important update to MailList King for those of you in Euroland.  V4.3 adds a new feature to meet the tough anti-spam legislation that has just taken effect there: Double Opt-in.  Now you can require users to confirm their subscription (or removal) by replying to a confirmation email.

We have also released updates to Smart Pix, MegaView and DVD PixPlay.  See below for further details.

Finally best wishes to everyone for the holiday season and I look forward to further communications with you in the New Year.  Thank You to everyone who has supported us throughout the year, and please drop us a line if you have any comments (positive or negative).

Regards

Nigel Cross

* PROGRAM TIPS

- Smart Pix Manager/MegaView: Printing at Standard Photo Sizes

If you are giving photo frames this year, don't forget to fill them with a picture of the kids.  Smart Pix and MegaView can print images at all standard photo frame sizes.  Simply select the images to print, click File|Print and then choose the size to print at from the Image Size drop down list.

If you need more control over your printing, take a look at Power Print:

http://www.xequte.com/powerprint/

- DVD PixPlay: Preview Slideshow vs. Test Slideshow

You may have noticed two similarly named items in DVD PixPlay; "Preview" on the main toolbar and "Test" at the bottom of the Create CD wizard.  So what's the difference?  Preview is an approximate representation of how the slideshow will look when played on your TV.  Test, on the other hand, actually performs the initial image to VCD conversion to display the final output.  A "test" takes much longer to create, however if you burn the slideshow after doing a test, the conversion process does not need to be performed again.

- MailList King: Double Opt-In and Opt-Out support

If you are having complaints from recipients of your mailing list that they never joined up to your list, then Double Opt-In is for you.  Double Opt-In essentially means that subscription will be a two-step process; when a subscribe message is received, a confirmation message is sent to the subscriber who must reply to the message before they are added.  You can enable this option in MailList King v4.3 or greater under View|Options, Double Opt-In

- Diji Album: Ensuring albums are viewed as you designed them

By far the most common question we are asked by Diji Album users is how to stop the scaling of objects when viewed on computers with different screen sizes.

Diji Album offers a number of options to control how albums are displayed when being viewed; including forcing the size or page ratio to match that it was designed at.

These options can be located under File | Album Properties, Album Size tab
