In this Issue:
Dear Xequte Software User, We are pleased to announce the release of our first new product since 2000. Power Print is a printing solution for digital cameras and images. It makes the process of outputting quality prints of the images on your camera or computer much simpler and faster. It allows you to lay out your images on screen exactly as they will print on paper. You can also use wizards to perform such tasks as creation of huge posters (up to a whopping 20x20 pages), album-sized prints, thumbnail sheets and greeting cards. Power Print is the work of our new developer, Sean, so if you have any suggestions for improving the software, please feel free to e-mail him directly. More details on Power Print are below... We are also anticipating a beta release for the new version of Diji Album in early July (www.xequte.com/beta). The new version will be a free upgrade to all purchasers after March 2002. If you have any pressing Diji Album feature requests or bug reports, please e-mail me.
Regards

* PROGRAM TIPS * Smart Pix Manager: Shipping a Smart Pix Database on CD-ROM If you want recipients of your image CD's to be able to search the keywords and descriptions of the images, then you should ship Smart Pix and your database with the CD-ROM. Users do not even need to install or register the software, just run it directly from the CD. To do this: 1. Copy all of the files in the Smart Pix directory to the top-level folder of your CD-ROM. 2. Copy the database files you want to use to a \DB\ folder on your CD-ROM 3. If you want Smart Pix to auto-run when you insert the CD, download the following file and copy it to the top-level folder of your CD-ROM: http://www.xequte.com/support/smartpix/cd/autorun.inf You will also need to use wildcards to ensure it works even if other people use a different drive letter for the CD-ROM. For more info read the help file section on CD-ROM distribution.
* Diji Album: Inserting Flash, Shockwave, PDF or Animated GIF files into your Album You can insert these file types into your albums using the HTML object. However you and your album recipients will need to have the relevant plug-ins installed (SWF and GIF, should not require plug-ins, the PDF plug-in can be installed from www.adobe.com). To insert HTML embedded file types: 1. Select Insert|HTML file 2. In the browse dialog change the 'Files of Type' filter to All 3. Browse to your PDF, SWF or GIF file, select it and click OK The new version of Diji Album (available shortly) will natively support Animated GIF images. * MailList King: Welcoming New Users to your Lists There are two main ways to send message to new users on your mailing list: 1. You can specify an acknowledgement message to be sent out when users subscribe to your list (File|Options, Acknowledge) 2. You can utilise the 'New User' database field. If you select the 'Other' tab, one of the special searches available is 'New Users'. Select this and you will see a list of new users. Click 'Send Message' and you can e-mail them all. Once you have finished your message, mark all your recipients as NOT new users. |
