Dear Xequte Software User,

Since its release, DVD PixPlay has quickly become one of our most popular products, allowing digital camera users to share their photos with friends and family (even those who don't own a computer).

We have a huge list of planned enhancements for DVD PixPlay to make it one of the most full featured, yet easy to use, image slideshow solutions.  Version 2.0 represents the first major step towards this goal.

When we initially released a very immature DVD PixPlay 0.90, we offered it a discounted price of $19.70.  While that price has stuck around longer than necessary, we now feel it is time to set it at its permanent price of $29.50.

However we don't wish to disadvantage any recent downloaders and will hold the old price for one week.  We are also offering a 20% discount off the normal upgrade price.  Please see below for further details.

If you encounter any problems with the new release please e-mail us at
sales@xequte.com

Best wishes to everyone for the holiday season, and thank you to all our customers for their support in 2004!

Regards

* PROGRAM TIPS

- DVD PixPlay: Creating Image Slideshows for Computer Playback

As we have discovered, many people are using DVD PixPlay to create discs primarily for computer playback.  Prior to v2, this was not a strong point of DVD PixPlay because the output was designed for TV playback and consequently looked poor when displayed on a computer.

With v2 a new Image Output option exports the slideshow in its native format (i.e. as images and videos) and includes a viewer, so that the output will display on a computer exactly as it previews from within DVD PixPlay.  CD or DVD disks can be used.

To use the new option, click the Create CD button, and on step 2 of the wizard choose the "Image Format" option.

Note: It is not recommended that you use this format for discs intended for playback on DVD players

- Smart Pix/MegaView: Maintaining the File Date when Saving

In Windows, whenever a file is modified the date for it is changed.  If you are like me, you like the date for your digital photos to specify when the photo was taken rather than when it was last rotated.

In Smart Pix and MegaView you can choose to maintain the date of a file even when it is edited.  You will find the setting under File>Options, Save

- MailList King: Editing the Plain Text Body

When you send a message in HTML format, the mailer typically sends a "plain text part" which is used by older mailers that do not support HTML and also by some versions of Outlook to display a preview of the message.

By default, when you send an HTML message with MailList King, it will send a plain text part that is just the same as the HTML but with the formatting stripped.

If you prefer, you can override this functionality and specify your own plain text.  To do this click the edit button on the message editing toolbar and choose the "Edit Plain Text" option.
