Dear Xequte Software User, Over the last few years Microsoft has been transitioning to a new kind of software interface; gone are the drop down menus that we've since the dawn of graphical computing, and in its place are tabbed toolbars. The change began in the Office products, but now appears throughout the Windows applications. Naturally, with such a radical change, opinions are divided. On the one hand, it means learning a new interface, while on the other, claims that it is much easier to use. When planning for MailList King v12, we thought the interface was overdue for improvement and were thus faced with the decision on whether to adopt Microsoft's new model. In our investigations, we concluded that it would be quicker to learn and reduce feature duplication, but our main concern was how existing users would cope with the change. Having given the pre-release of the new version to a selection of old users, we're happy to report that for the most part the change has been welcomed. The general view is that the new styling is slicker, and finding seldom-used functions is easier. If you're a MailList King user, please take a look at the new version and let us know what you think.
Regards Nigel Cross

* Program Tips - MailList King: Vacation Expiry Vacation handling has been a big area of enhancement in MLK v12. The vacation command allows a member to temporarily disable delivery to their address while they are away on holiday or otherwise unavailable. The new update allows member or the admin to specify an expiry date for each vacation. So if a user knows they will be always for twenty days and don't want to receive any messages they can send a command of: VACATION 20 And at the end of twenty days MLK will automatically resume their delivery. If no expiry is specified then the vacation can be automatically terminated by the default ???Vacation Status??? setting under File > Options, Database, Other Database Options. The admin can also put members on vacation for a specified period by selecting them in MLK and clicking ???Vacation??? on the Home menu. All members that are on vacation can now also be viewed by clicking ???Vacation??? in the mode tree.
