product release is the inevitable bug fix update, known in the trade as the
"D'oh" update. Alas MLK has not escaped this curse. Despite much
in-house testing and the efforts of many beta testers, a number of issues were
encountered once the software was in daily usage by the entire customer
base.
Further to this, we have added some cool new features, that didn't quite
make it in time for the initial upgrade.
This update is highly recommended for all v5.0 users! See below for
details.

* MAILLIST KING V5.01 UPDATE
This update includes a number of important fixes, so it is highly
recommended that ALL V5.0 users download and install it.
V5.01 also includes the following top ten enhancements:
1. A particular field (including all custom fields) of all selected
members can now be set with a single action
2. In the message editor a new save option allows the current message to be added a stationery file 3. The character set (encoding) for a message can now be specified 4. Can now add your own items to the history list 5. Automatic Folder Processing tasks can now process messages as web forms 6. A new shortcut (Ctrl+Alt+S) allows you to toggle through all available sending methods in the message editing dialog 7. Can now specify multiple subjects for detecting web submission messages 8. Web submission forms can now have GroupInfo or SubscribeInfo as actions 9. Added new sort field when database is not cached: Record Date 10. - MailList King: Batch Filling your Database Fields
With v5.01 you will find a handy new feature that makes it much faster to
add data to your mailing list members. Whenever you select two or more
members a new option will appear on the toolbar and Edit menu; "Set Database
Field..."
This function allows you to choose a field (such as company, country or any
of your custom fields) and specify a value. The new value will then be
applied to all the selected contacts.
You can even use the function to append a comment or new history item to
the member's record.
- DVD PixPlay: Creating Disks for PC Playback If you are using DVD PixPlay to create disks that are primarily for
playback on PC's rather than DVD players, then it is better to use the MPEG
export format, rather than VCD.
VCD is not natively supported by PC's, so recipients of your disk generally
need to download a VCD player (such as ours at www.xequte.com/other)
However MPEG is supported on almost all computers (including Mac's) and if
autoplay is enabled the slideshow will commence without the recipient needing to
do anything more than insert the disk into their computer.
You can specify MPEG as the output format on Step 2 of the Create CD
wizard.
- Smart Pix/MegaView: Watermarking Images for Web Site Usage If you are planning on posting your photos to your web site you may be
worried about them being reused without your permission by other sites. A
common way to assert your ownership is to add copyright text at the footer of
the pictures ("watermarking").
Adding text to files with Smart Pix or MegaView can easily be performed
using the "Insert Text" function which is available under Image>Edit Image on
the menu.
You can also add text to an entire selection of images at once using the
Batch Conversion function (also located on the Image menu).
- Diji Album: Quickly Creating New Content Pages Diji Album offers a variety of quick short cuts for creating common page
styles, such as a page with an embedded image, a video file with control buttons
or a table of contents. These functions and more are available under
Page>New Page on the menu.
