Spiff Up Your Files With Organizational Magic

Jon C.A. DeKeles, Technical Director

If it weren't for the way Jesse takes neat to the extreme, I'd think all writer types are organizational slobs. Annette's desk is a fire hazard. Liz's bulging email folders scare me. And Nicci's entire work area would bring her mother to tears.

I'm not going to live long enough to solve all of their organizational challenges, but I figured I could at least get started. If you have download files, collections, documents you need to organize, check out the downloads below:

Download Wonder: This top-rated utility works with Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator to help you organize files you grab from the Internet. It takes control of the download and prompts you so it can store and organize file information. (Shareware/Win9598-NT) Click for more

Smart Pix Manager: This image management and viewing app uses a relational database to store references to all the images in your collection. It's powerful, but easy to use. (Shareware/Win95-98-NT) Click for more

Archive Power @Home: Here's a logical, easy-to-use system that lets you import, scan or cut and paste all document formats into a file system of folders, drawers and cabinets for organizing paper and computer-generated products. (Shareware/Win95-98-NT)Click for more.

BY THE WAY... A couple of other things I wanted to tell you about today:
First is the latest LaunchPad product -- an awesome 3D graphics program from Ulead Systems called Cool 3D. It lets you create high-impact 3D titles and cool special effects for Web pages, multimedia titles, video, presentations and documents. The demo is a 48-hour exclusive. Click for more.

Second is an update on yesterday's story, Do You Really Want to be an IE 5 Guinea Pig? Click for more. I wanted to let you know there was a CD-ROM from the Microsoft PR machine on my doorstep when I woke up yesterday morning. So I'll play around with it and let you know what I think in the next few days.
